Last year I learnt Sriman Narayaneeyam from Swamigal recording. Did that by splitting the sandhis in the text and using commas for giving pauses like Swamigal. It needs a calm mind to read like that. It greatly improves the bliss in reading a stothram. It helps in deepening our understanding.

So I have attempted the same for mooka pancha shathi stothram, mostly relying on how I remember hearing it from Swamigal and my meager knowledge of Samskrutham. Happy to share it on this auspicious Mahaperiyave Aradhanai day. Going forward, I will use this to do parayanams and teach. There will be a learning curve to switch to this way of reading. But do try. It will be worth it.

சென்ற வருடத்தில் ஸ்வாமிகளின் ஒலிப்பதிவின் துணையோடு ஸ்ரீமன்நாராயணீயம் கற்றுக் கொண்டேன். அதற்கு நாராயணீயம் ஸ்லோகங்களை ஸந்தி பிரித்து, அவர் நிறுத்தும் இடங்களை, குறித்துக் கொண்டது, மிகவும் பயனுள்ளதாக இருந்தது. மனம் அடங்கி இருந்தால் தான் இப்படி நிதானமாக படிக்க முடியும். அப்படி படித்தால் மிகவும் ஆனந்தமாக இருக்கிறது. நன்றாக புரிந்து அனுபவித்து படிக்க முடிகிறது.

அதனால் மூக பஞ்சசதீ ஸ்தோத்ரத்தையும் அதே போல பிரித்து எழுதி உள்ளேன். ஸ்வாமிகள் எனக்கு படித்ததை நினைவு கூர்ந்து, எனக்குள்ள சொற்பமான சம்ஸ்க்ருத பாஷா ஞானத்தையும் கொண்டு இதைச் செய்துள்ளேன். மஹா பெரியவாளின் ஆராதனை நாளில் இதை உங்களோடு பகிர்வதில் மகிழ்ச்சி. இனி இந்த புத்தகத்தைக் கொண்டு பாராயணம் பண்ணவும், பாடம் எடுக்கவும் முயற்சி செய்வேன். இப்படி படிப்பதற்கு முதலில் கொஞ்சம் பாடுபட வேண்டி இருக்கும். ஆனால் அதற்கான பலன் உண்டு.
